Well done Kev, good news.

Another GREAT product from DNA

All done & fitted. I had a big audence this morning, a few of my my mates came around to see whet all the hype was about with the stage 3 Air Box, Kev2 (KRL) took my bike for a ride after wards, he was supprised with the power increase. I have put my money on 55HP at the rear wheel.

I must say I am still impressed with the out come, this mod delivers the power all the way across the whole rev range. This mod has exceeded my expectations. I will get it on the dyno as soon as I can get a booking.

I have found there are some small changes to the XT660 fame dimensions, in concern to the mounting points of the XT660X/R air boxes. To over come the difference in dimensions, the intake pipe has been designed to be adjustable. It can be adjust by means of fitting spacers between the intake hose & the frame of the air box, in order to shift the DNA air box housing backwards or forwards to line up its mounting bolts.

I have added 2 PDF files. One is the installation of the DNA stage 3 Air Box & the other is if you have a problem with the bolts not lining up, what to do.

Fran please can you down load these two PDF files to your wed page & post the links from there, as my Rapid share account only allows 5 down loads per hour.

A bit of info for the technically minded.

DNA stage 3 Filter size, 110mm long, 380mm circumference tapering to 300mm circumference. ID of filters outlet is 74mm tapering to 49mm at the throttle body. The intake pipe has been lengthened from 80mm to 160mm. The standard resonator has been removed.

This new BoltOn High Performance kit, from DNA, feaures:
  • Extreme air flow 111,9 CFM @ 1,5 Inches of water
  • + 40% more than the popular DNA Stage 2 application!
  • + 140,49% more than the stock air box & filter!
  • 98-99% filtering efficiency for maximum engine protection
  • Unique DNA air filter with built in venturi designed to smoothen out the air flow.
  • My dyno results to come.

DNA Stage 3 Filter Kit .

G`day all, Kev 2 ( KLR ) here ,
I was around at Kev`s house today to help him fit this new mod to his bike. What a fantastc bit of gear it is and with a bit if tweeking here and there we fitted it in ok. I have ridden Kev`s XT660X on a number of occasions both in standard form and with the Big Bore Kit and Hot cam . Today I rode it with the DNA Stage 3 Filter Kit and What a difference from standard . It now has plenty power through the whole range , even with a fuel map with a bit of a flat spot ( which will be fixed this week on the Dyno runs ) it is Power plus . I had a few roll ons in different gears and all it wanted to do was stand up . I fear for the Superbikes in the tight stuff . For the price of this mod and the power gain to me it`s a must , well worth it . Cheers KLR .

All bolts lined up and only took about 2 hrs not had chance to ride it yet as it was raining and dark
Also fitted an O2 eliminator some hot grips and installed the custom map from D.N.A

Great success two stage 3's fitted in one weekend. I am glad your installation went OK & you found the installation notes handy. It is not a hard mod to carry out but you do need some mechanical skills to do it.

Paul I tried both fuel maps & found my bike runs better with the standard can fuel map, I will be off to the dyno very soon & we will have 3 custom maps to go with the mod. I think you will start to smile around the 4000rpm mark.
