I seem to be sufering the reg/rec issue now.

What happens if you just disconect it ??????

I did it just to see and the bike runs fine, only tried for a minute though.

So another unit can work ????

the TTR Regulator is rated at 350 watts (the bike only puts out 182 watts) , while the Tenere is closer to 280watts with the Regulator rated at 490watts (I think)

Your problem is most likely the connectors rather than the regulator/rectifier

Eventually, the battery will go flat and it will stop.

My Ten should be going in to the dealers for new rear wheel bearings this weekend, and it's second replacement cush drive. Just shy of 14,000 on the clock.

Too many humpback bridges ;)

Joking aside I was somewhat surprised that yours were so obviously worn. Glad your dealer is being good about it. Given mine will hit that mileage before the end of the year I'll be keeping a close eye on anything I might need to get done before the warranty runs out next March.

Yup, mid Dec is two years on it. I think it's more likely the seals started to go with all the salty ****e, despite my best efforts to keep it all lubed up. Hey ho. What was slightly worrying was that I couldn't find a replacement bearing when I had a quick look, you may be more lucky. NSK bearing, code 6203 DU

Try looking for a '6203 2RS' bearing from any supplier (FAG, SKF, etc).

'6203' just defines the dimensions of the bearing (17borex40odx12wide) and is common across suppliers

'DU' just seems to be NSK speak for a fully contact sealed bearing. More commonly known as '2RS' - for 'two rubber seals' ;)

The load ratings of the same size bearing should be close enough regardless of supplier.

Aha, thanks for that. Hopefully it will be of use to someone.

passed the 30,000 miles today (48,000 kms) - its just over a yearold now, and its behaving itself again. I retook my I.A.M. test on it last week (and passed). also covered 1800 miles in 3 days including bushmills to hastings sat most of the way at an indicated 80mph and it never missed a beat. going to give it an oil and filter change and a proper clean this weekend.

well it looks like I spoke too soon, I was having problems with the bike not selecting gear so I spoke to the dealer and arranged to get the bike looked at on the Wednesday, the gear lever was very worn and had loads of play so a new lever was authorised under warranty and fitted today,....

I jumped on the bike put it into gear and pulled away to find it stuck in gear.....

JS Gedge have stripped the engine out of the bike and removed one a the covers to have broken gear dogs fall out, so it looks like the gearbox has broken up..... waiting for more info now......
