Water Pump

Just had my water pump repaired ( luckily it was a warranty job) at Bikebiz in Sydney. I noticed that the bike was leaking blue coolant after parking the bike at work the other day, so I took it through to the guys at Bikebiz, Rod (workshop manager) had a look at the leaky bit, checked on the bike details on the Yamaha Aus site and informed me that they would oreer the parts and let me know I could drop the bike off for the repair to be done.

Two weeks later (after checking the coolant levels every 3 days in the interim) I dropped her off and picked her up that afternoon, with all her leaky bits repaired. Turns out the mechanical seal was the "pig in the mosque" on this occasion!

Dear all,
after a lot of reading, finally my first post. Sorry for digging up this old thread, but it has been very usefull to me as I am about to overhaul my waterpump on my xt660r. I ordered the revision set with OTR and have been told this comes without instructions. Apart from being a bit sturgly, it looks "doable" there is just one thing that feels quite important... The yamabond sealant. As indicate on one of the pictures in this thread, there is a necesiti of using a yamabond sealant. This has had me looking all over the internet... But I am still missing which yamabond. Or am just complicating things? So simple question, which yamabond sealant has to be used when overhauling the waterpump? Thank you, hugo
