Cheers Den, I've ordered both bits. Good prices too.
All I need now is a PC3 and single end can!! :023: |

I am still running in although I have fitted my leovince cans I have not fitted DNA yet as fuelling need to be adjusted. I have the PCIII to fit also. My plans are get first service out of the way then book my bike onto dyno then fit PCIII on zero map and drive to the dyno. I will fit the air filter at the dyno centre. Reason I am doing it this way is it says explicitly on DNA fitting instructions to get fuelling adjusted as soon as fitted or damage may occur. I have spoke to Dino from DNA about a PCIII map but has not done a dyno run with Ten and PCIII fitted as far as I can make out. Or no map available at this time at least. |

I got my kit direct from DNA no worries. It was cheaper than OTR. |
Does anyone know for sure that a power commander is required ?
|
If you change JUST the air filter then no, if you change the air filter, and remove the snorkel then I would advise that you DID fit a PCIII and have it mapped to suit. Think about it, you are allowing much more air into the engine and so the fuel needs to be increased to suit. Otherwise you are in lean territory and at risk of burning out valves and holing pistons.

So the Fi ain't clever enough to adapt ? I was just thinking, DNA kit 50'ish PC3 300 and starts to sound like an expensive upgrade for what gains ?
Maybe i have jumped in feet 1st as usual, not having much luck, Kappa rails are welded up wrong and a potential fault on the new tankbag. oh well |
Try to find a used PCIII on ebay.
PCIII for Aprillia Pegaso 2005 on or Yam XTX/XTR will suit. You will need to get it set up on dyno unless you can find a map somewhere. I hope to have my map done next few weeks. |

I make it about 72 for both. Should be worth it tho. (that was with cleaner and oil kit) |
Den did you see this thread
http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=9636 ?
Some interesting reading and I think the potential gains sound good. Powercommander is expensive but not as much as replacing a piston. Even a couple more horses will be very noticeable on a bike with not many to start with. Depends what you want out of the bike I guess. Probably not worth it if you're riding on green lanes most of the time but I'm doing a lot of road miles and fancy a wee bit more top end poke. |
Well smoother fueling and a bit more umph would be good and i suppose if i do buy one i could put it on another bike if i ever sell this one. Come to think of it i cannot think of many Fi bikes i have ridden with spot on fueling, me mates zzr14 is very good thats about the only one i have ridden in the last 12m that had good fueling
