I've asked the question elsewhere and had little return.
I had heard that a bike was sighted in the Italian Alps of adventure styling but it had a three cylinder engine fitted.....
I doubt this will end up being the configuration, rather a parallel twin of 1000cc capacity, but saying that, funnier things have developed in the past.

Super Tenere --

Thought it was to be fitted with a new twin 1200cc lump. If that is to be the case it just shows Yamaha haven't learned anything from putting a big cruiser motor into a sports bike chassis and creating the poor selling MT01.

If the Super Tenere was due out soon with a twin of about 1000cc I might have held back on my purchase of the 660Z. Now with the Africa Twin out of the equation and the rather prissy Transalp aiming squarely at road-riders I reckon a harder edged Super Tenere would take a healthy market share.

Just my tuppence worth

Timpo.
Sounds more like a Triumph Tiger to me

Or at least a more adventure based verison of one having made the Tiger more road biased.

If they're gonna do it I predict Yamaha will stick the TDM engine in and be done with it. Oh and I would quite like an MT-01 if anyone is giving one away...

...I gave mine away for the new Tenere.

Nevertheless nothing heard about a new Super Tenere, except the common drawings or photoshops, you can find in the moto magazins.

That is what I suspected.......
I will certainly be very interested in the new S10.
Oh and as for the Africa Twin, did you not hear about Honda's leaked plan?
With the 'adventure' bike market set to bursting with interest, how come it's only the Euros (KTM, BMW and Yam Italy) that are acting on it? I wonder if it is anything to do with the EuroIV regs and brand new model introduction.

It's fun listening to the rumors though.....

We don't even have the "new" Tenere out in South Africa, but even down here, which is pretty much nowhere, i've heard rumours of a Yamaha "adventure bike" with a 1000cc twin motor......

I need one.

SWAMBO and I intend to go around most of the World on ours but it does struggle when 2 up and fully loaded.

We even went and had a go of a BMW 1200 GS adventure (sorry to swear). It doesent weigh that much more (for a 1200) but it felt a lot heavier and it was horrible after the Yam. The problem is getting a big off road bike that does not need servicing each day .

I live in hope.......
