Fitting a Trinity stage IV 2-in-1 exhaust

hello,

shortly I will try fitting a Raptor 700 Trinity stage IV exhaust on a XT660. As far as I can see yet it will need some modifications to make it fit.
The headers look great, exact as I like them. Well bend at the exhaust manifold, good lenght of both pipes and a very large section diameter of the pipe which is connected to the silencer. Good quality, I already like it!
To bad I cannot use it this weekend on my enduro trial....will need some more time to investigate this truly piece of art!

They do look good, I have had an eye on them for a while now. I first time I saw one was last year at the dyno shop on a Raptor, the guy said it worked well & it made good HP.

They are made well.

a few bottlenecks to be fixed: the radiator hose + the end of the exhaust pipe needs to be rerouted.

Looks to me like you've got yourself in a spot of trouble...

You need some pipe builder to build you a metal pipe with rubber ends to connect the radiator reservoir to the engine cooling receptor. It needs to be bent at the right angle too.

As for the can how are you going to have that bent towards the frame because at the moment is pointing out to the right a bit too much.

The rear brake reservoire can be re-routed on the inside of the frame towards the airbox, you just going to machine some sort of clamp that bends it. It still leaves you with the problem of the extra generated heat from the two headers running on the right side of the engine which might melt the spark plug lead, and your leg if you are not careful, which means motocross style knee high boots are a must everytime you want to ride.

And finally... how are you going to justify the high noise level with Les Gendarmes?

I don't think there is much of a problem at all, the link pipe can be bent or cut & welded to shape.

As we have already spoken about a few weeks ago Marcel about the cooling system, maybe fit a bigger or different outlet postion radiator, one to suit the exhaust mod. May be the outlet could be on the other side & make up new inlet & outlet hose to suit the new postions.

I like those headers, much better bends then the other 2in1 headers for the XT.

You sometimes hit curve balls when being the first one to carry out a mod, same as my Raptor cylinder conversion, they said it will bolt straight on, like hell it did. So don't worry to much we will work around the problem, if you want I can go one weekend to the bike breakers & measure up some radiators & try & get a model for you.

I would like that if you can find a suitable radiator. I have some thoughts about fitting the hose but if this won't work we can try using a different radiator.
Also I need longer exhaust bolts (4 pieces). The oem are to short.

I'm going to check the sound shortly. I also bought a dbkiller for this type of exhaust, so if it is to loud I will use that.

I'm trying to find me a company who's specialised in bending exhausts.
