These are the pictures as promised. I think JMo was was spot on about there being little that can be done apart from removing the snorkel because the filter is on the inlet and not the venturi but here they are anyway.

There was about 30mm of oil in the bottom of the trap !!! This collected in about 2500 miles. Mainly from my 6 day trip to the Alps - 2200miles.
