Hello John get yourself a set of Oxford Hot Hands, cheap, cheerful and easy to fit, although heated grips is what divides the boys from the men, a real hardy boy like you shouldn't need them. Cheers |

I have oxford on the xt and symtec on the ccm and find even with the lower output on the ccm the symtec get warmer as the grips that go over the top are thinner, also you need a good set of large handguards to take away the wind chill

i'll second the oxfords ones, but try and get one with the old style knob heat controller, the new 2 button/digi ones are not worth there wieght in s**t. Grips arent too big, and heat up nicely, but hand guards/muffs are a must to keep the worst off your hands before thinking of keeping them warm

The trick with the new 2 button ones I've found is to remember to turn them on before you ride off for your journey. Adjusting the heat setting is not too bad but holding one of the buttons down for 5 seconds to turn it on with winter gloves on can be quite tricky!
I've found them handy in the current weather, certainly find in around freezing temperatures with some small hand guards to deflect the wind and intermediate weight gore-tex gloves |

I've tried a variety of heated grips (inc Oxford) and hate the fact that the grips are 'fatter' than usual - they just feel uncomfortable.
I've used the symtec heated grip kit http://www.windingroads.co.uk/catalo...roducts_id=138 on both my KTM Adventure and on the Tenere. You can use any grips with them, and if you order the black toggle switch, you can mount it very neatly on the 'cockpit plastic' that covers the back of the headlight. |
