No problem fitting the stage 2 but if you think about having more air going in and more exhaust going out through your :CCC: you will need more fuel across the range to avoid lean burn. Check out the fuelling advice in the XT Mods index (just click on XT Mods in my signature below. There is several suggestions for increasing fuel supply.

Air Sensor Compensator??

Hi all, I'm a newbie to Supermotards, Yamaha's and this great Forum.
So far since experiencing these 3 i'm smiling a whole lot more!

I have a XT660x 07 model with an injection system that has an Air sensor on the headers.

My Dearest Wife brought me Stage 1 and Stage 2 DNA filters for christmas and i'm keen to install them.

My question is, seeing as the 07 has a Air sensor in the Exhaust will i still need to adjust fueling or will the Air sensor see a lean burn and tell the ECU to inject more fuel to compensate?

If this is not the Case, i'm a little confused to what I have to do to correct the fuelling across the range, do I:

Adjust CO from the Dash?

or

Adjust the TPS?

Or Both?

I'm not so keen to cut into the Original Loom for 'Kevs Mod' but noticed Kev mentioned that his mod does not suit my year anyway?

do i have to bite the bullet and hold off till i can scrape the pennies together for a PCIII??

Thanks for any advice in advance.

With standard cans on your 07 there should be no problem fitting the stage I as a replacement for the standard paper filter and your sensor will probably cope with it but check out the threads by clicking on the XTMods in my signature - particularly the ones relating to co adjustment. Once fitted just check that it has not introduced any side effects of surging or cutting out and check the plug condition after a couple of hundred kms that it is still straw coloured and not white with brown spots.

The stage II introduces a whole lot more air into the system and I do not know if the Australian model has the same ecu map as the European version which already runs lean in places to comply with EU emission regulations.

If you join the XTSupporters for a tenner() you will have access to Ask Kev on a one to one and his advice and that of Freez is worth more than the loads of Oz dollars at your local dealers (unless it is Kev's!).

Kev and Freez are working on the 07 onwards mod and there may be some results soon - within a week or so.

Good luck with your bike and give the missus a kiss for such a thoughtful pressy - you just need to convince her now that it needs a PC III to make it perfect
- like her!

Cheers Motonacio,

I fitted the Stage one DNA last night and removed the Snorkal, upped the Co by 10 digits and it seems fine if not a little starved, so i'll look at increasing Co again. A little noisier too which is nice.

I've decided that a PCIII is the way to go, the only trouble is i can only find a PCIII to fit - XT660-R 2004-2008 (european only)

I can't see this being a problem seeing as its an international company, i mean why change hard parts for different markets when you can do it with electronic fuel map? but then i might be wrong and normally am!

Has anyone in Australia already fitted this model PCIII to an 07 onwards?? will the above mentioned work on the Aussie bikes?

Best I join XT supporters really!

1) That is a little mistake by DynoJet who listed the PCIII only for the XTR when in fact it is designed to fit both bikes, which have the exact same engine / frame / ecu / air box etc.

2) Yes - heaps! Ask Kev once you...

3) It's not compulsory but it will open a few more doors here including personal assistance from our Australian Mech Guru Kev

well... I have been watching all this concerning the 07 model and the Kev mod.
I assure you the Kev mod made such a difference to MY bike and I really enjoy it. How come mine is ok and other 07's are not?

George there are a quite few 07 models running my fuel mod, 18 in all. I keep a record of every mod I sell.

When I did the tests at the beginning of 2008 I did not get a 100% hit rate as I did with the 04 to 06 models, so I decided not to sell them on any O2 sensor models. When I did the testing I had 2 out of 10 bikes that did not show an improvement with the fuel mod & this was not good enough for me, when I sell a mod I need to know in my own mind that I will not have any come backs & the buyer will be 100% happy.

If anyone wants to try the fuel mods on their 07/08 models they can always PM me for details.

Just noticed the seller will not send to the UK anymore as unable to ship within Dynojet UK' s distribution area.
