Avon Distanzias on XTX

Hi everyone!

Hubby just bought an 05 X and I've been busy reading through the forum to see what tyres people are using.

Been reading this thread http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?...t=tires&page=3 and notice heaps of people using the Distanzias.

The tyre on the front of hubbys X at the moment is a 120/60-17. Looking at Avon's website I see they only come in 120/70-17 so I'm assuming this is what you are all using and they fit ok?

Sorry for the novice question!

Cheers
M

Yes that is right the bike your husband bought had been fitted with a thinner front tyre by the previous owner and the correct size is indeed 120/70 R17

Just to give you peace of mind have a look at page 2, chapter 8 of the user manual (let me know if your husband has this manual or I can let you dowload a free copy)

These are the tyre specs for the XTX and XTR, I have highlithed the ones for the XTX

been using pilot 2's duel compound tyres and they are great also. They appear to be keeping their shape better and not squaring off so much as I tend to do a lot of motorway riding to work.

Hopefully we can get some, shall try next week. Not too many options for tyres available in NZ that are usually a stock item. Many have to be ordered with the next shipment and take 8-10 weeks.

I wouldnt mind a set of the Distanzias for my bike too. Might be a bit cheaper that the Metzelers!
