Clear Alternatives rear light/turn signals

Hi everyone - just a quick update from the US of A...

I popped in to see Clear Alternatives here in Las Vegas this week

http://www.clearalternatives.com/

to see if they would be interested in making a replacement rear light for the Tenere, which would incorporate the indicators into the rear lights.

Obviously the twin vertical rear lights would be ideal for this (like the Suzuki SV1000) - the idea being that the rear brake/tail section on each side turns to orange when you indicate, then back to red. I have one of their lights on my Ducati Monster and it works very well (no problem with MoT either x) - although it is best with a clear rear lens of course.

Anyway, the upshot of our conversation is that yes, they are certainly interested in doing a replacement lamp/insert for the new Tenere (unlike certain other US based companies, they can clearly see the potential market overseas x), but with project commitments, it is unlikely to be developed before the new year now. Also, it's not simply a case of taking the dimensions from mine, they will need a complete lamp unit from Yamaha Europe so they can butcher it around.

So, fingers crossed in a few months we should see a very neat way of tidying up the rear end - with the indicators incorporated in to the rear lamp lenses, we can chop all that crap off that hangs down on the rear end, and mount the plate directly to the neat little fender section below the lights - result!

xxx
