New tyre/s needed

So my rear tyre is pretty much gone, should last another 2 to 3 weeks max i would have thought, front tyre is still in perfect shape so i dont really want to replace it unless i really have to, also its more money that i just dont have at the moment.

So i need a new rear tyre, never had any problem with the stock dragon except its only last 2k miles (would like twice that really) found it plenty sticky enough in the dry and not to bad in the wet (remember i only use the bike for commuting)

What can i go for on the rear if i stay with the existing dragon front, is there a slightly tuffer compound from the same manufacturer or do i really have to ditch a perfectly good front tyre and get a set

In my old bandit 1200 days i always ran two different compound tyres on it, a soft one on the front for corner grip and a harder on the rear to get some mileage out of it

Any input guys??

I have just changed the dragon front about a month ago as it was worn out and i now have a michelin on the front as well.
I think they are good tyres and have not had any problems with grip in the wet or dry.

They seem very expensive 110 for a rear tyre seems steep to me when the distanzia's are about 130 a pair

I may well chuck a MAXXIS Supermax on the back for now (about 60) which should last until the front wears out, perhaps by then Avon would have sorted out the Distanzia supply issues.

Any views on the Maxxis? i hear they are good but dont last very long, would i get the same sort of mileage out of that as the stock dragon?

also would it be ok to mix the Maxxis on the rear with the Dragon on the front

That`s why i paid the extra money as they last,It`s ok spending 60 for a tyre but if they only last a couple of thousand miles then it works out cheaper to put a michelin on.
