Question Cracking Akropovics

I have the SP Series pipes on my XTX which are cracking on the flange where the canister joins the pipe from the engine. Anybody else having this problem. I emailed Akropolvic, no reply yet. I sugest to all who have these pipes to take a good look, the only reason I picked this up is I had them off and was cleaning them. They are very fine cracks.

Yes I agree it must be a freak occurrance, none of the people I know with Akrapovic exhausts on the XT's never had such issues. If the are still covered by warranty they should be replaced or repaired by those you've bought them from. Unless they were 2nd hand in which case your only option is to find a specialized TIG welder.

I have seen this before. The very same thing happened to a another spanish forum member. He did not manage to get Akrapovic to repair it.

i have also got his problem, i have just bought a set second hand and noticed a hairline crack, it is the same place i think, where the can joins the link pipe, the crack is on the can just where you attach a spring. I am not a happy chappy!! . have you had any luck from akrapovic?

Oh Nooo, you are not having much luck, are you? Honestly I thought with all that money people spend on these Akros that they would at least be made as durable as possible. This is now the 2nd set that we've heard of with welding failure.

Sorry to hear that

Not impressed by Akrapovic
