stumac the swiss alps are great i spent two winters working there near st.moritz been back three times on the bike twice by landrover but if you.ve only got a week and a half get your self over to norway newcastle to bergen and your there head north to trondheim back down to oslo and back across to bergen if you get on a camp site early you can rent a a small chalet which has a couple of bunk beds electric and usually heating which isnt to dear for the night just dont drink to much ( take your own ) the drink drive limits realy low and keep the speed down the police are real hot on speeding

how about over here in Norn Iron and ireland, great roads and plenty to see and do, also you could make it a round trip and go from dublin to hollyhead and visit wales while you do the trip.

i did all of ireland in the summer on my old bike and it was great crack, plenty of wee twisty back roads to keep the XT happy.

I don't think the Stella Alpina will be happening again, the local government have now closed it to motorized traffic at weekends and local environmentalists have remodeled the top of it somewhat

There are, however, plenty of similar trails through the whole Alpine area.

As for similar Rally's I've seen a few covered on ADVrider.

For my week long getaway this year I will be covering the four geographically extreme points of Ireland coming back via a spin round The Isle of Man TT route.
