Best Price for an AraiTour X

I am looking to get a Tour X at some point soon and was wondering what the cheapest prices people have found recently.

I have trawled the web over the last week but 285 seems to be the best deal on the 299 RRP.

Would it be a good idea to wait until the NEC bike show for a decent discount ?

Cheers

Paul

Give J&S Accessories a ring they are well known for their excellent discounted prices on clothing and in particular Arai lids.

J & S are good. I've had stuff from them and can't complain at their prices.

I've also found this which has P'ed me off a bit cos I payed top whack for mine.

They still look good with the peek off.

A good tip when going for an Arai lid is if you try a medium in a different style then a medium in the Tour-X style will be exactly the same fit. They don't mess around with their sizes like some manufacturers do. That was useful info for me as the shop didn't have the Tour-X in my size so I tried a different style first and then the shop ordered a Tour-X in for me in my size.

Has your arai tour x got like a set of removable pads in it that are held together by straps at the top of the head. I ask this cause in another thread i have said i tried on a Tour X last year and was very pleased with it but didnt want it then. I am now looking to get one in the new year but tried one on again and now they have this pads in the way, and one sits right on the forehead which i find really annoying. . This has out me off. And i dont know wheather it is cause they changed the helmet or the one i tried on before hand had something wrong/different not in it.

Yes. The pads are removeable, even the cheek pads. You can even buy replacable pads when they get worn out. I saw some Arai cheek pads in a bike shop at the weekend for 30.

Nice one Mic, that's a bloody excellent price there

I noticed that some places list them as Tour X and some as Tour X 2 - I assume they are the same thing ?

If my TPS fitting goes well tomorrow I will celebrate with a new lid

To be honest I hadn't noticed that. The RRP is the same as I payed for mine. No idea what the "2" stands for though.

Get ahead, get a hat...

If you have either a small or x-small head, George White are currently selling their remaining stock of Tour-X's at an unbelievable 149 instead of 299!!! They only have limited colours, and as I say, only S or XS left now though...

However, I got my plain (white) Tour-x from JW Groombridge in Sussex (and yes, they'll do mail order) - paid their sticker price of 239 (list was 299) and that was for an ordered item, not stock - they also do great deals on other Arai's - I also bought an Astro R for 259 instead of 329 rrp.

btw. There is now a new/revised version of the Tour-X - the shell is like the new VX3 (rather than the older VX Pro) motocross helmet, with different vents on the top and rear, and a slightly restyled peak - although you have to look pretty closely to see the difference! I believe the new version also features the quick release cheek pads (found in other Arai's) that aid removal after an accident?

Hello,

I have a Tour X3 and like it, my previous lid was an Arai also, they fit my headshape well.

I can't compare the X3 to the previous versions, but compared to my other Arai then there is a little more wind noise due to the style of the lid, but it perfectly acceptable. I normally use it without earplugs and i'm not deaf yet......pardon?? (sorry...old joke)

You can get visors from:

www.racevisors.co.uk

You can also get tinted pinlock inserts from them which is what I've done, why it gets dark, take out the pinlock and your back to a clear visor.

Nick.
