Question cool trousers for the hot weather

Hi folks as the hot weather is with us at the moment I am finding my Hood armoured jeans are now too hot to wear off the bike. What would you guys recommend for hot conditions to keep cool but with a bit of protection in case of a spill? Any recommendations would be most welcome.

These is probably the best set of warm weather gear I've ever had --> http://www.rst-moto.com/rst-pro-seri...enture-ii-jean

More vents than you can shake a stick at....

Not too bad in the rain or cold, so a sort of three season set. The biggest problem is the internal/removable waterproof and thermal parts. But I use mine with some external waterproof gear so it works really well.

Also found a really nice pair of vented gloves from Held -> http://www.fc-moto.de/Held-Sambia-Touring-Glove

Smile cool trousers

Thanks for the reply, looks a bit too specialist for me, I am looking more for pants that I can walk around in that look fairly normal nothing too garish but tough.

You need some plain black mesh pants. Check out the hein gericke airsteam pants in your nearest j&s.

The trouble with mx upper body armour is if you ride on the road, come off the bike and slide then it will fall apart as it is only designed for off road impacts not slides.

Not easy to get Hein Gericke gear in my neck of the woods, so I bought a pair of Airstream II trousers a month ago from Belgium. With the euro in the doldrums at the moment they worked out pretty cheap: 40 including delivery to the UK.

http://www.hein-gericke.be/hein-gericke-airstream-hose-schwarz-16.html

They are nicely put together, are cool to ride in, light weight and comfortable to wear as off the bike. Only drawback is they're black, which isn't the ideal colour to be wearing in bright sunshine!

Hi,

I've got these and can say they are perfect for hot weather http://www.motoin.de/Clothing/Pants/...ar::34751.html
I live in the warmer climate of Southern Europe and temperatures get often above 30 degrees. Got several pairs of jeans but these are the best so far. Bit expensive though....
Nevertheless the Italins know how to make a garment look cool so you will look nice in pair of those too. Dual purpose in a way

Smile cool pants for hot weather

Hi folks thanks for the replies so far, It seems that there is a gap in the market in the uk. I am now thinking of buying just the kevlar liners seperately and wearing standard cargo/walking pants over the top. Road skin sell the liners with and without armour. www.roadskin.co.uk

Hi, I wear the hood jeans on my Spanish trips and have walked around in them as well, not ideal perhaps, but safety is paramount.
Just pack another pair of lightweight removable leg trousers for when off the bike.
If I'm ever on the bike withoiut full armour I feel naked, I've had the odd bad accident to know what would've happened without it.
Thanks for the link BTW to roadskin, their hoodie looks ideal for summer trips over a heavy jacket.
