Rev Dropping
I keep my bike is in our flat's garage. Garage is below the road level. It's exit is quite steep. Two times on garage's exit, on 1st gear between 2k-3k rpm, RPM suddenly dropped and I was nearly fell off from the bike. Why did this happen ? What problems can cause this ? Or I was just too slow to climb the exit ? Sorry for my English it's RPM dropping, isn't it ?

Is this a new bike for you or have you been riding it for a while now? 2k rpm, going up a steep slope - that really sounds like you were just under-powered and you were running a cold engine, so the bike could have been a little jerky. Did the bike become choppy before it stalled on you, making distinguishable low frequency thumps? If you want to go slow, you have to rev the engine and slip the clutch, but what's the point of going this slow uphill? Just go a little faster through the climb and then pull in your clutch and slow down/stop at the apex, if you need to watch out for traffic as you exit the garage. |

My thoughts...what kinda speed is the tickover set to?..on a warm engine 1450/1500 rpm is the given 'norm' advised thought this forum.
Is the engine started and immediately ridden?..ie still on choke ? |

I generally wait to warm engine a bit. When it warms, it sounds more smooth.
