Immobiliser on 2014 XT Z
I've lost my day key and have tried the red key but it does not immobilize the immobiliser.Cant start it .The flashing light tells me it is error code 51 but cannot access the normal error codes( maybe because it is still immobilized).
Dealership is saying about 1000 to rectify(change ECU, barrel etc) Any one have any experience or ideas .Some one else is taking a stab to remove immobiliser but this still involves wiping the ECU or some such thing. Not great for obvious reasons but if I can't find a get round I'll be back on this site advertising a 4 yr old ready for breaking!! Urgent HELP still got a couple of days before it is taken away to its possable funeral. And don't suggest finding the key. |

Are we talking about a genuine Yamaha unit or an aftermarket one?..I have an aftermarket unit with a separate alarm fob..
Does your red key not have small metal tag with it that has a code on it? |
