Oil passage question for experts

My xtx (32,000 ks) seems to have run a big end and I'm trying to figure out why...
When I removed the inner clutch cover a section of gasket was missing that seems to come from a oil gallery from the inner clutch cover. This seems to be fed from inside the crankcase via a sealing ring with a ball-bearing. Is this a oil pressure regulator or just a check valve? I'm wondering if the gasket has blown out and now the crankshaft isn't getting the oil pressure it needs?
Hopefully someone with a good understanding of the oil paths can answer...please have a look at the photo link below

I think the factorymanual has an oil gallery schematic. It was available from this site if you subscribed. Pm Capt and ask.

Ok so grabbed a service manual and found the Lubrication diagram and I would say the blown out gasket on the inner clutch cover has cost me a big end This interface is the oil filter supply that then lubes everything.
I think I'll be using some gasket cement on this particular mating face when installing the inner clutch cover.

I've used gasket sealant there twice and have not had any issues or leaks.i was concerned about over application and the excess squeezing out between the faces and becoming dislodged then floating around until it blocked a gallery. So i went down the apply sparing route and none squeezed out on the outside of the engine so I guess none had squeezed out inside.
