reversed battery terminals! ouch crankshaft sensor dead!

accidently reversed battery terminals yesterday fitting a new battery. blew a fuse. changed the fuse. but now it wont crank & showing code 12. crank sensor.

******!

has this happened to anyone else?
bike was running fine before this.
will test the stator next but not sure if testing will work on the pickup - maybe only on the stator.
ive checked the plugs and other fuses and all look good.
any advice guys?
(apart from wearing my bloody glasses next time I install a new battery!)

testing the sensor is quite simple.

The resistance should be 192 - 288 Ohms at ambient temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.

Positive probe to the lead - blue/yellow
Negative probe to the lead - green/white

Code 12 could indicate an open circuit (burnt out fuse, or wire, or connection) or failed sensor.

thanks guys. still no luck.
soon as I turn the key on a 12 comes up.
when I go to diag mode d62 shows one fault. when i try clearing it by switching the engine kill switch to on it doesnt clear. when i pull up d70 that should show the code number it just comes up as "0".
ive checked and renewed all fuses, sprayed contack cleaner on all plugs etc.

using an ohm meter set on 20k im getting a reading of 0.24 (is this ok?). i think it is because i have 2 other xts here and the other 2 have the same readings...

Ive ecu pins and plug also looks ok.

its crazy. what am i missing here?
