?Flooding? Engine Everyday

So I just fitted a new spark plug - due to the bike refusing to start this morning. In fairness the old one was clearly due a change. I had fuel (injectors really do gush it out dont they!!!) and spark with the new plug. Still no go until it had sat a while.

This has now happened twice however and I want to check this is indeed the route cause e.g. the spark plug, not user error.

Can stopping the bike with the kill switch (being quiet for the neighbors) cause the engine to flood? I ride decent distances, not just around the block, so the engine is able to warm itself.

Also, can leaving the bike in gear cause flooding? I tend to stop, put the bike into first, then roll back (till letting off the clutch slowly) till it sticks before putting it on the stand, since I have to park on a hilled area and this adds peace of mind.

Thanks,

Ed
