That's not quite in the spirit of it.

The idea is ;- you are prepared to donate (give free / not interested in making money / setting market prices) an item, any item and you take a percentage just for postage. You might even take a hit, a bit like giving money up.

The start price would be ridiculously low, (like all good auctions) to get the bite on the hook. It's more about your generosity to GIVE an item and not SELL it as previously stated. The only other cost involved is time but if people are not that interested in giving a bit of time / charity then I can only guess, sorry, know what will happen.

You're probably correct. If the members can't be rsd to click on a banner why would they bother reading a thread? .......unless there was something it for them. I might put my de-cat Ackers up for offer as one is dented from a minor tip over.

Plus if I win on the forum I could always resell it on ebay where the 1000's are watching. everyone wins.

To be honest mate. I dont really care. I donate and click once or twice a week for 10 to 15 mins a time,so my money and time is where my mouth is. But the fact is most people wont do anything unless there is something in it for them. Sad,but a fact. I am old school but sadly there are not many of us left and that is also a fact. Anyway it was just a thought. Done with it now. Im doing my bit thats all I can do

Many apologies buddy if there's something I've said that rubbed you up, as it seems. We're on the same side. Pity others aren't!

Smile

My lack of response does NOT mean I don't care but is simply a response to The Governor saying he has no interest in any potential survival/rescue options for the site.

I for one have found this site to be an immense resource and have enjoyed being able to contribute to its continued existence.

Long live XT660.com

The site is indeed a great resource and I've spent hours trawling archives etc. But, if I can offer some constructive criticism, there are way too many sub forums. It makes it difficult to navigate and revisit threads you read earlier etc.

3rd time... we need numbers , divided thrue the total number of members and see what sum comes out of it...
what's the use in giving/paying and not knowing whether it's somewhere near the needed budget to keep this running?

ciao,Hannes.

I bet the site owner is pulling his curly locks out.

In the U.K. there used to be a seat belt safety advert that said "clunk click every trip".

Don't clunk, just click ...every hit (visit)

why do you think we are talking about it ? we / I don't want to see the site go down. its a very good site and very handy with all the info on the bikes, and good people on it. But sadly don't think it will be around much longer. but like you say. i donate and i click. but am i wasting my time and money if only a hand full of us are doing, if its not going to making a difference at the end of the year ?. Just spent another 15 mins clicking. Will try to do it 3 to 4 times a week now
