It most certainly does if you are in it for the long term the best option by far if its the value for money you are after then buy Kevs mod but a PC is another league.

i have had 3 xt660 now (still have 2 of them) Two with the kev mods one without never had any problems with any of them at low speeds never had any problems with them surging at all they run fine if you know how to ride them mine have anyway they are no sports bike but lots of fun. i have 4 other big bikes but still love the xt660. most important is the cush drive rubbers check for free play and the chain slack keep that adjusted right and you will have no real problems

I can assure you the PC will fix the surging but its a jigsaw puzzle and you need all the pieces, thats a pair of aftermarket pipes, snorkel out, both 1&2 filters and the holes as per the size in the air box it will transform the bike, leave anyone one of those mods out and youll notice the difference with the bike I did each one separately.

I originally went the Kev mod theres a marked improvement and youll get the same improvement again from his mod to a PC just a case of how much you want to spend and how much hassle you want to go through to get that better result.

I am actually about to buy a 2009 xtx after all with 35k km(thats what he says at least) completely stock so i can do what i want, About the holes in the air box i actually did not find enough info, i also found out that stage 3 is not sold anymore and its actually rather expensive( maybe 600 euro for used)... so when the time comes i will have to come looking for more info about the holes drilled. Thank you all for your answers, the cush drives i am looking how they are named in my lang ...

cush drives are the rubber 'shock absorbers' in the rear wheel housing. They sit
within compartments as part of the rear hub.
basically they wear and can cause snatchiness. Simple fix is to use old inner tubes to pack them out OR buy some made out of polyurethane ..

Saw the sticker myself, but he didnt say it had K&N so he either did not even know( did not open up, left it to be checked by the mech tomorrow) but will probably change it to dna if its K&N allready inside. He said he did the big service as we call it arround 10k km and front suspsension service at 20k , he said that he also did tyres 2k ago... i thought fork brace bling was standard since most of waht i see has it on... unforunately here in GR Service book Km etc are all pretty much easily a lie, all you can do is check the corosion(sry if spelled wrong) and after that only the mech can tell you if its good...
