Help - Crash Bar Identification !
Evening all,
I have just removed the crash bars shown in the pictures below from my 660 Tenere as I am sure that they were not designed for the bike as the upper mounting point required a hole through the tank protectors ! Since they have Metal Mule stickers on them I contacted them to see if they could help me identify them. I've just had a reply from them to say that they don't recognise the bars as one of their current or past products They certainly look nothing like their 660z Bars on their website. I wonder if any of you could assist, they are no use to me and they are just going to clutter up my garage ! The good people on ABR have suggested I ask on here - now why didn't I think of that ! Thanks in advance for any help. |

Oh but yes they are!
I got one of the original 08 model Teneres and Paul from Metal Mule came to my house and took away my bike as they did not have one to use as a development model for their products. It came back with their own bash plate, a set of those bars, a taller screen, a full set of pannier frames, rear carrier and Metal Mule panniers. My first Ten was stolen and I bought my old panniers frames back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, long story don't ask! I still have the original prototype bash plate, damn ugly! Those bars I thought were also ugly, he took them off when he went home! Probably sold them to the owner of your bike! Hope this answers your question. PS I also got a serious discount for letting him use my bike. The panniers I sold as I don't particularly like alloy boxes. Steve
