Clunking at low RPM.
Hi Guys,
I have 2 issues. My 660 R has 29K km's on now, when I try and accelerate from low RPM it clunks but if I kick down one it pulls smoothly. I have heard of issues with the primary nut, but that seems to be a problem even in neutral which is not the case here. I have checked the cush rubbers and they fine. The other problem I have is just occasionally it will stall for no apparent reason, hit the starter it fires up immediately? The idle seems quite low could that be a problem? Thanks, Smoky |

Mine clunks a little when it goes into first,so does my mates. Most bikes do imho.
Clutch adjusted ok ? You may have already checked this but is the chain properly adjusted and clean/lubed/ Sounds like your idle speeds a little low..14.5-1500 rpm is generally considered best. how to adjust the rpm is within the site |

If I'm reading your post right......
To lower revs & to higher gear big singles don't like it. they have heaps of torque but are not a flexable motor.. My TTR250 will pull from just over idle in top not fast but it dose it with out complaint.. try that on a big single & they ***** & complain like school girl... DR650 & KLR650 are the same... ...
