Vision X Solstice options

I just received a pair of Vision X Solstice LED lights as a birthday present, and I'm considering the running options on my XTZ. I got one wide and one spot beam.

As we know, the XTZs main beam is pretty poor, the dip isn't bad. My initial thought was to set them up so that the wide is on with the dip/running light, and the spot comes on with main beam. The problem with the existing main beam however is that it's too pencillike, and not broad enough, so adding an additional spot to it is unlikely to solve a problem. Can those with knowledge of this bike and these lights please chime in with their experiences, and how they set their lights up? I'd like to be able to do this and get it right first time, rather than having a cut, splice, solder etc time and again until I find the right configuration.

The end goal is to have better night illumination and, if possible, better daytime visibility too, without dazzling other road users.

Cheers, Rich.

I have two wide spots coming on when main beam is on only. I also fitted a 100watt bulb on main team. For the dip I run a blue tinted bulb from eBay to give it that bright cool white colour.

I've used the Vision X lights on the Ten, though I had 2 x wide beam.

I've since dispensed with the Visino X lights (the vibrations on the Z destroyed the mounts and I kept loosing the little grub screws that hold them together)

However, I turned one of the lamps through 90 degrees, so I had one horizontal bean and one vertical beam, it gave a decent spread of light.

Used with Vision X with high beam and put a couple of these little DRL's on a stainless steel bracket off the Vision X's

I replaced the Vision X with these ->

I just replaced my old led lights with these from China. Light up the road like daylight and only 20 quid each.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262861632132
