Newbie To XT660.com
Hi I am new to the forum/website but I am currently looking to purchase a XT660Z, have been viewing past posts for any information that will help me with my decision and it has been very helpful.
I am in a slight dilemma and which is the majority of my riding will be road with the odd track thrown in, but nothing major offload. Question being is this the right bike for me ?, planning trips all round uk and into Europe. Cheers Jason |

Hi and WELCOME!!!...personally I ride a R..and I love it. Seat gets uncomfortable after a few hours and I dont know if ID like to ride it all day and tour on it.
Not sure if the X is any different but as its set up as a tourer maybe its a different ride. One thing I would advise is making sure its got a good service history..regular oil and filter changes are a must. Top advice irrespective of which model you go for...Kev's Mods are a must along with DNA air filters. |

Hello Jason and welcome aboard.
Came across this very low mileage example for sale close to me yesterday. https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-...0cc/1255923580 Colin J

Hey mate, welcome along.
I personally really enjoy my Tenere. Fantastic fuel range (500k's +) on mine. A few tweaks here & there to suit what I do on dirt roads & tar. One being additional spot lights as the headlight is fairly average. Some people don't like the buffering on highways but where my lights are mounted under the headlight helps. Drilling holes on the middle of the fly screen reduced it more. At legal speeds no problem. Is it the right bike for you? Well you will only truly know by riding one. Just check movement at the rear sprocket due to knackered cush drive rubbers are a weak point but easy fixed with inner tube packers to get lots more milage out of them. Good luck buddy. |
