XTX engine/clutch rattle

I Have a 09 XTX and last night riding home from work I noticed a loudish rattle from the engine, I stopped and it seemed to go and the bike rode fine. I checked it this morning and it seems the rattle only occurs when the clutch is pulled in. the noise is coming from the right side of the engine. I've checked the oil (which was changed with filter 500 miles ago) I want to investigate further when I have more time but i'm not sure where to start. Any pointers gratefully received.

Sounds like it might be loose crank nut syndrome! Especially if it's on the right side of the engine.

Thanks for the reply, that was my thoughts but on further investigation last night I found one of exhaust jubilee clips had loosened and slipped down to the join with the header pipe and sat there rattling, panic over..
