1st month on my tenere

Hi all,
have been commuting with occasional longer trip.Have plans set for Ireland trip end of may, luggage bought and a list of bits and pieces to get for the trip.
Feeling more comfortable on the bike and still thoroughly enjoying the ride. Bike seems to be standard engine wise.My first mod will be the twitchy throttle mod, simple and fantastic images to get it right. My question would be,what would the suggested next mods be? Not looking to change the power in any dramatic way, just smooth out some bits.
cheers,craig

Doing that 'free' mod to the throttle body makes a big difference. . if your up for doing the filter/ Kev mod and exhaust it makes the bike so much nicer to ride!. Change the rear sprocket for a 46T one also makes a small but worthwhile difference. You can buy a cheap sprocket and try it. But that's one of the joys of the Tenere. ..you change and mod it as much or as little as you like to suit yourself! And the Tenere is perfect for Ireland. Steve

I have to agree. I have had my bike for 2 1/2 years. Just fitted kev mod, DNA filter, removed snorkel and put DNA cover on. Bike is so much better to ride now and overtaking is much better. Wish I had done it sooner.

Thanks for the advice, after reading so very many threads that's what I thought might be the suggestion. Think the kev mod and the DNA filter needs to be done together ?
Sorry for late reply, forgot to set notifications. Might run her as is until budget recovers a bit. Still trying to fill a list of equipment for Irish trip.

The mods are great and improve an already great bike....and of course the throttle mod is 'free!'. I have a good 46T rear sprocket you are welcome to. BUT.....don't worry about the mods until it's convenient for you, the best thing is riding and enjoying the Ten. ..especially in this nice weather. What part of Ireland are you heading to ..? Steve

Thanks for the offer but I'm going to not mess with it for a while and just ride. I am going to figure out a usb plug position for the trip. My sister lives near athlone so that will be the first stopping point. Haven't set the direction exactly after that but thinking a couple of days doing a route west of there. Travelling with a friend and planning to meet up with 2 others at my sister's place. Excited to be doing a trip after so many daydreams. Craig

Sounds good. Some nice places going that way. And the weather also just right. Enjoy

Another free mod not to overlook is the cush drive mod... Did mine yesterday and amazed at the difference a couple of bits of old inner tube make!

Thank you. Have been reading so much of the advice and idea's on this forum. Loads of really good ideas. Going to get some workshop time for myself next weekend and just fiddle about with a few odds and ends.

The best value for money mod is Kev's O2 eliminator
