Better late than never!

Hello all,

Long time lurker, first time owner.
In Australia, the Tenere isn't that highly thought of. Too heavy, under-powered, poor suspension and way too expensive, compared to the competition.

Due to the horrible **** life throws at you, I have had to consolidate my fleet, and chose the Tenere as the best all rounder I could find. I think it will do highway and commuting and fire-trails as well as any single bike can manage all these tasks.

The end of production marks my last chance to own one, and dealers here are keen to offload them. I virtually robbed my local dealer to acquire the new beast. 'Too Expensive' is taken care of - now I will attend to the rest of her faults.

Anyway, that's my introduction. A thank-you to all the posters here who have provided so much info to make the XT660 a viable purchase for me.

Welcome to the forum! You will find plenty of Aussies on the forum who rate their Tenere 's highly. ...it's a brilliant all rounder! Enjoy your new steed! Steve

G'day mate. It's the best way to pick one up, mine was a '2 year old' brand new one which made the deal much sweeter than paying full whack! I was only talking to the local bike shop owner/friend this morning about how underestimated these bikes are. Forget the spec sheet's just ride & enjoy.
