Weight reduction
Im looking around to spice up my XT X without having to sell my kidneys. Weight reduction is still the cheapest 'tuning' one can do. And the XT X is rather fat, tbh.
On OTR I saw them claim a 165 kg bike. That means they shaved off some 15 kg or so. So Im thinking: what is the best way to reduce the XTX' weight without resorting to fancy stuff like carbon rims etc.? (or: what can I rip off the bike to save weight without breaking it? ) |

After market exhausts should save at least 7kg.

Im already sporting the Leo X3 systeem. OTR has a 2 in 1 system but I find a single muffler ruiins the characteristic look of the XT

I loved the look of a 2/1 but it absolutely killed the motor.
Change mirrors for a bar end option, ditch the pillion pegs, put a tail tidy on,lithium battery,a real pair of Marchesinis if your lucky but to my knowledge their are only 2 pairs in the UK. |

They ain't poser unsprung weight is what it is all about for every lb you can get off you'll need to loose 4 if it's sprung you will never be able to match a weight loss thst a wheel change can do,but they are expensive assuming you can get them.
Re the 2/1 if your an off roader then it's the way to go because it turns the bike into an old fashioned thumper. |
