Wiring spotlights

Finally got some neat little lights...as recommended by Desert Racer. ..mounted them where my front indicators were. Steve

The lights seem good quality and have a neat wiring kit with them....but I'm a pea brain when it comes to wiring!, any advice gratefully received. Steve

Hi Steve

Cool idea to place the beamers in the indicator-place - where did you placed your indicators? Or are the integrated in the hand-protectors?

Proper solution o/.

cheers, Andy

And to your question:
I can see that there is already a Power-charger mounted near the handlebar.
I would "posi-lock" it to the wires of the charger.

Hope this helps

cheers, Andy

The original circuits for the sidelights would seem to be a practical enough place to start.
They're close enough to where you want them, but i would consider putting a break in the cabling for when you want to remove the panels.
I use these for ease of use, only need a tiny screwdriver to fit them.
Although they're not 100% waterproof, you can tuck them away behind the instrument panel.

Those new LEDs draw 1.7A each, so you can probably run them direct from the sidelight circuit.

Tap into the sidelight circuit using Scotchlok terminals (you don't even need tools!)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/3M-Scotchlo.../dp/B000U1GY6S

They'd be on ALL the time, though.

If you want them switched, that's a whole 'nother ball game.

Essentially, you'd want a relay to switch the power on/off when the bike's switched on.

So you'd tap into the sidelight circuit with the relay, ignore that switch on the diagram then simply add a switch on the handlebars AFTER the relay on the red circuit.

Use a 5A fuse for 2 x 1.7A lights

Does that make sense?
