PU Cush Drive Rubbers

Just bought some MEFO Explorer tyres from mytyres and decided to look at the cush drive rubbers. My bike has done 12000 miles and the rubbers were as shown in the picture - worn!
I PMed 'Hunday' - Andy Ross in S.A. and asked him for a price on a set of PU rubbers - 57 including postage. I sent the money via PayPal and received the package exactly seven days later.
I have the first set of RED rubbers he has done and they came with four cable ties and instructions for use -see pic.
I had some fun getting the rear wheel back on the bike - my bikes over the last few years have been shaft drive and getting the wheel in was quite a struggle. In the end - with the bike on centre stand I used a ratchet strap to take the weight of the wheel and with the aid of my better half got the wheel into position, having attached the chain and with each hand guiding the wheel with spacers in place. After a lot of cussing and swearing I realised that if I brought the wheel as far back as the chain would allow - it would clear the swinging arm and allow me to push the axle through!
Hope this helps someone else....

A piece of 2x4 on the floor, under the swingarm, in the track the wheel takes. Then roll the wheel into location.

To keep the spacers in place I use a piece of hosepipe that is just long enough, then push it out with the spindle once the wheel is in place.

It's a fiddly job without a doubt, and others will have other methods - you just got to see which one works best for you.
