Fitting a 12v socket

I know this has been covered but searching the forum has,nt answered my question very well. I want to fit a 12v cigarette lighter type socket to my handlebars and wired directly into the battery. I would use it for my sat nav and in an emergency to run an air pump to blow up a tyre (with suitable 15/20 amp fuse inline and engine running) My other stuff phones etc I charge up at hotels etc. The bike has heated grips fitted and the battery already has 2 sets of contacts on it. is it okay to fit a third set of contacts or should I do something else.
