Bar risers

I've re -routed the throttle cables as Pleiades explained. ....just about to order some Renthal Enduro High handlebars (often referred to as Dakar bars), my question is what are the tallest bar risers I can use ....? Steve

The answer is simple Steve... With stock cables, no risers at all!

The enduro high bar (Renthal 613) is has 30mm more rise than OE and is also 35mm wider. The extra rise and width means they will just about fit with standard cable lengths (with the cables re-routed as you have done) but it'll be tight! You'll end up with about the same rise as you've got at the moment with your risers fitted to the stock bars but they'll be a tad wider. The sweep is less aggressive than the OE bars too which is the main thing that makes them more comfortable from my perspective.

If you just fancy Renthals, then the Enduro Medium (664) has pretty much the same rise and width as stock, but with the same (more ergonomic/nicer sweep of the 613s). These would be a straight swap for your OE bars and you can keep your risers fitted.

Sorry to be a pest. ...but is there a way to keep the bar risers. . (30mm)...and use the Enduro high bars. .? ie extended cables. Or is it just not worth it! Steve

Yes it is possible... Anything is possible! You will need to get extended throttle cables (x2) and clutch cable. Thing is, you'll end up with bars that are nearly 7cm higher than standard, not quite ape-hanger territory, but none-the-less, a huge difference. The general point of fitting 'Enduro High' bars is to get a comfortable rise without having to use risers. You need to ask yourself whether you need 7cm of extra height? Sit on your bike and hold your hands 35mm higher than they are now (and a bit further apart) and see what you think...
