tappet check/adjustment.
Although the bikes got a 'service history' in reality its just stamps in a book confirming 'service',no details.
I have changed oil and filter, brake fluid and stripped/cleaned the calipers. Lubricated the cables and anything else i can see and cleaned and adjusted the chain,,3 times!! what a faff that is. Im going to change the coolant, which one is it?..car stuff ok? I have no idea when the valves/tappets need checking or if they have been. So my questions are : when should they be checked and is the process the same as the ten? ... ![]() |

Any coolant that states it is Organic Acid Technology (OAT) and is borate and silicate free will do the job. The OE coolant (branded Yamalube) is Motul MotoCool factory Line and is readily available at reasonable prices.

Thank you ...the coolant is the same then as I use in my ZRX. Sorted.
I'll leave the valves alone. Unfortunately Im a worry arse and wish iId have taken a video/recorded the engine before I did the oil change. Im convinced its noisier. |
