Stalling issues
Hi I'm new to the xtz 660 and this forum.
I've got a totally standard 2014 xtz and have done about 200 miles so far but I'm having a problem with the bike cutting out in first, second and third at relatively low speed. Has anyone got any ideas on how to solve the problem? |

Hello there, check the idle set about 1450 to 1500 rev's.

Stalling issues
If you're new to a big single cylinder bike, be aware that you need a bit of revs at low speed especially in higher gears above first.
If your idling is high enough, and it's a used bike, the air filter could be dirty which could affect the the Throttle Position Sensor setting or the CO adjustment. At least that was my experience with my XTZ

All I'd add to the above (idle speed and air filter) is the fact that the state/condition of the spark plug can have a dramatic effect on cutting out, as it does on any single cylinder motor. Do you know when it was last changed/checked? Or for that matter, when the bike was last fully serviced?
As idle speed is by far the most likely cause of your problem, check that first, then have a look at the air filter and spark plug. If one of those doesn't fix the issue then I'll eat my hat/helmet! |

The fuel injection doesn't like it when the revs are too low and in stock trim and especially when you are new to the bike you can stall it quite easily, I did.
Learn to always drop in down in to a lower enough gear. The co2 mod makes a big difference in my experience. I had already done all the other mods.
