Why the big price gap?
Hi all. I will soon start shopping for a new Ten so I'm keeping my eyes open for good deals. One thing I've noticed though, is that the R and X models are a lot of the time much much cheaper than the Z.
Why is that? Aren't they basically the same bikes? Because if there is not much difference apart from the looks, I might get an R instead and safe some money. Sent from my PLK-L01 using Tapatalk |

The main reason why the price differential exists is because the Tenere is much much more popular and in demand - always has been ever since it came out in 2008.
Generally similar age/mile R and X models are a grand cheaper than an equivalent Z (which I'm sure you noticed) for, what is mechanically and performance wise, a pretty much identical bike. If were in your shoes I would definitely give some serious thought to an XTR and spend the change on some nice farkles. From my point of view the only thing that I personally would miss over the Tenere would be the tank range. |
