I need some tips for sand, there's a green lane I use that often has loose sand in places, it's reasonably technical for a large bike like the XTR but think if I could handle the sand better I could ride it quicker. It isn't really deep sand but enough to wash out wheels if you catch it wrong.

I have trouble getting enough confidence to get up on the pegs on this lane and that is mostly down to the sand.

I'm using pretty aggressive tyres on the bike, a mitas army front and mitas e09 rear, so I don't think my tyre choice is to far off the mark for this kind of lane.
