will xt660z tenere become classic?

just wonder, as end of the production of this bike is probably close
and I don't see any bike similar to tenere. It's one of the kind old school,
simple bike with very characteristic look. Something like VW Beetle

I think on the distinctive looks alone it will become a classic...following in a long line of classic Tenere's Steve

It might. Although its not as legendary as the old XT600Z Teneres(34L, 1VJ and 3AJ), but it's distinctive look and multiple usage as a long haul travel bike and reliability will make it a classic anyway! But as it is now with the older Tenere's, keep it original to keep it's value(money wise and emotional).

It would be great if it did become such a classic like the older ones. Have found a few pictures recently of the older bikes and I'm so tempted to seek one out as a restoration project, for me personally it would have to be restored to rally spec , they just seem so attractive to me!..call me crazy but I just love that era of true desert machines!

They might, but I don't think I'll live long enough to benefit from it!

Nah, i do not really think it will follow up in the legendary footsteps of its grandparents.... I think this one will simply be forgotten in 20-30 years from now. But we will see some day.
Sure, it is a real beauty to see and she drives really well. And like its predecessors she can take on anything. But this bike is also built in the modern age, throw-away-philosophy. Like everything else that is built nowadays. Build-quality is by far not as good as the oldies IMHO.

Nevertheless, i am still hooked on my Ten and hope to keep riding her for many years to come!
