fan cut in temperature
What is the cut in temp for the fan. It is so rare for it to run.
In fact I don't think I have ever noticed it running even on our warm pukey summer's days. a couple of years back in order to check it working, I kept the engine running in a single garage on a warm day with the door closed. The fan eventually cut in after 5 mins. |

The fan cuts in when the ECU reads 102C at the coolant temperature sensor. It switches off when the temperature drops back to 95C.
The fan on my Z only ever cuts in in hot weather 20C+ and even then only when moving slowly, or stuck in stationary traffic. |

Same here on my 2010 660 R, last day we had +24 degrees, stuck in traffic line and the fan worked spot on....
All the best! //Jtr 71. |

great; so my bike is not odd!
I guess as an adventure bike, it has to cope with extended periods at crawl speed on dirt track in summer weather. good cooling system and ventilation plus the unstressed engine is why I have never noticed mine running (other than when I tested it) my concern was if the cut in temp was set too high (I read somewhere about moding the ECU to drop this) but I am more than happy with 102 C thanks guys |
