Question supension changes due to lowering links

Hi I have just fitted 1 inch lowering links to my ten and like the reduced height but the suspension seems harder and there seems to be more drive train vibration. The chain is quite slack at the moment I would have thought it would have tightened up after fitting longer links. Any body else had a similar effect?
Tomorrow I may shorten the side stand as the bike is now too vertical to be safe from falling over. I am thinking of shortening the stand by half an inch how much have you shortened your stand by?

Interesting observations. Theoretically the longer dog bones increase leverage on the shock so generally people notice the suspension softening with lowering links fitted and find they need to add preload to bring things under control.

Indeed, if you didn't change the chain adjustment between removing the old links and adding the new, you'd expect the chain to be tighter with the bike sitting under it's own weight and even on a centre stand as the bump stop in the shock will be reached with the swingarm at less of an angle.

Talking update lowering links

Just an update, today I shortened the side stand by 18 mm and re welded using a 2mm welding rod and stick welder set at 60 amp, For me its was a swine as trying to weld round tube when you cant see until the arc strikes up is a b"$%&*d but eventually I was satisfied and the finished stand takes my weight as I mount the bike using the left footpeg. Before I cut the stand I made two centre pop marks so I could align the foot and shaft correctly prior to welding. For my bike 18 mm shorter is perfect to get the best angle for the bike. I am well pleased with the result.
