A real alternative?

Saw this in Swindon this afternoon. The only 'almost' contender for me. Come on Yamaha, give us that Tenere with your sweet twin.
Loads to command on the Africa Twin. But still 200cc to big, 2000 notes to dear (or more) and too heavy compared to a modified Tenere. Having said that, its clutch is lovely, and the gears are like silk. Already has great suspension (with loads of adjustments), hand guards, centre stand etc.
Drat.

It's a bit appealing, but still prefer the older looking Africa twin..I wonder if I could get away with having too bikes!..would definitely have Steves xr off him like a shot!..

Hi Jacques, I agree its too much bike really for our purposes, they say its built for off road but after riding one I would say it would suit fast gravel trails and or very well graded dirt roads only really, not uk green lanes. The performance is also nothing to write home about typical Honda great on paper but a bit flat and boring in reality. if you haven't already read it see my test ride in any bikes talk. http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=218469&postcount=1
