Looking forward to take good care and do great things with my xt,alredy found some good info on this forum, soo glad to have it and its members around So i bought the bike used in great condition around 12k km on it,and after a few riding hours notise some problem alredy. First i notice a small oil leak down by the cilinder on the brake pedal side??? waiting for a good clean to see what next or where it begins. and the ocassional hickup and die problem? at low rpm, clutch pulled in. i have an Akrapovic exhaust on the xt maybe its the f/a ratio? i think i dont have the powe commander on it... Sry for the bad speling and the long introduction another thing dont understand the therm SURGING? so if someone has the info for me i would be greatful. |

Welcome on board mate.

You can access a rev counter in the dash display on R/X models to help set the idle speed by entering the diagnostic (DIAG) mode. Follow these instructions: 1) First set engine kill switch to OFF and make sure ignition is OFF. 2) Press and hold both SELECT & RESET buttons together and then switch ON the ignition (keep select and reset buttons pressed for at least 8 seconds). When the display then changes to "DIAG" mode you can release the select and reset buttons. 3) Press the SELECT button once until "CO" displays on the dash, then press the select and reset buttons again and "CO1" should be displayed. 4) Once the display is showing "CO1" you can set the kill switch to ON and start the engine. When it fires up a digital rev counter should appear in the right hand side of the display.
