Six Days in Northern NSW

Was a last minute decision for me to join a group of 5 other riders on a 6 day, 2000K tour on the dirt roads of Northern NSW last month.

Unfortunately, I had a reasonably serious “off” back in February of this year, which resulted in some extensive knee damage to my right leg…so wasn’t sure I could even make this trip, let alone complete it.

Anyway, with plenty of pain killers packed away in my panniers, we left Cessnock on a perfect Spring Monday, headed for Bendemeer - Tenterfield - Dorrigo - Wauchope etc.…

I arrived back home six days later, barely able to walk, but wouldn’t have missed this ride for anything… Brilliant Adventure roads and some great company. I doesn't get much better.

Below are a few images from the ride

Zombie Tree Hill

"Calamity Causeway".....(It lives up to its name!!).

Sunset nearing Tenterfield on Day 2.

Rocky River Road

Old Grafton Road...

Wow!!..... A bit of daylight under the front wheel....

Seahorse

Mate ... Great looking country !!!

My riding group hasn't got out into NSW much but I am looking forward to the eventual big Oz loop planned for the future taking in some NSW routes ... probably on the Super 10 for comfort though

Yes Steve, the Aussie bush smells amazing in spring with all the wattles in flower..
Hardly saw another vehicle on the roads we took, so there were no exhaust fumes to contend with.

Very nice Seahorse. I fully sympathize with the knee. I broke my knee cap at 18 on a KMX 200 going home early from work, so later on in life found the need for electric starters on big singles. That made life much more comfortable. Also the warmer weather helps as opposed to the the English winters.
