Diag Mode (C0's)
My bike refuses to go into diag mode when I hold "select and reset" and turn on the ignition. I get the km flashing for a bit that switches it to MPH or KPH but thats it. If I keep holding it the clock starts to run. I've held it for 30seconds plus and still nothing...
Im sure im doing it exactly what is being described.... everywhere. |

As far as I know only the XT660R/X have a diag mode. With the Z you have to use the f1 tool.

Makes sense now. Although not what I wanted to hear.

The technician who set my Ten's CO when the previous owner got it new, apparently did it on the bike, according to the previous owner. I've not been able to get hold of the technician and sit with exactly the same problem/results as you.

As Arjen mentioned, there is no way of adjusting the CO on an XTZ without the plug-in Yamaha diagnostic tool.
TBH, altering the CO setting achieves very little on a Z which isn't prone to surging, unlike X/R models. The CO setting only adjusts the fuelling at idle and <2% throttle. Adjustments can help smooth out a lumpy idle, but that's about it. You'd be hard-pushed to notice the difference in settings on the road. |
