ECU needed

So, apparently my Ecu is stuck on error code 55, which according to Motomatrix uk means a replacement unit. Surprisingly there does nt appear to be any 2nd hand units avaliable in their database, which is worldwide.
Can anybody help? Ideas or offers welcome.

Thanks all..

According to the service manual error code 55 indicates a key registration malfunction. So just register another key not the same key. You don't have to replace your ecu.

If only it was that simple, I ve lost the red key some time ago, and under instruction from Motomatrix carried out the ECU basic reset, which means disconnect everything for 24hrs, then reconnect. Same error code.
Water had got into the main ignition plug and the Transponder aerial plug, i think it shorted out causing the ECU to get stuck on 55.
I think i m right, but some what out of my depth.

I got a XTX 5VK-8591A-00 should fit a XTR it has the white dot on the back so it is a reprogrammed 00 to 01 ECU so will ride smoother than the 00 ECU. The ECU when removed it was working perfectly it was on my 2007 XTX when I swapped over the wiring loop to get rid of the O2 sensor before & worked out how to control the O2 sensor, I removed this ECU & complete 2005 wiring loom when I sold my 2007 XTX.

Don't think it will help on your XTZ as this ECU runs no O2 sensor, as mentioned I do have the complete wiring loom for this ECU as well.

So in theory I could swap the loom and ecu for an xtx? I do have the 5vk prefix on other part numbers. Is this normal? If so is there any other way round it?
Thanks Kev,

Nick

The XTX & XTZ looms are different as they run different regulators & dashes, also the add on's are place in different places on the bike.
