rules is rules

fair enough.

I have fettled and messed with my bike for 4 years and plan to do more. it makes me ride it ferchristsakes!

so, just because my last post was closed the bits that could've helped a fellow XT rider (and I use "sell" in the loosest sense) are going to possibly be left to rot or left out for the pikeys.

madness. but rules is rules.

Hi ' had' and welcome to the forum. Actually you are wrong because rules are not rules.......get me!

Rules only apply to some and not others????????????????

I am purposely being obtuse to see if anyone can pick holes in my reply because the next post that I make will be very embarrassing for some persons.

In the meantime to get around these rules if you want to pm me with the details of spare parts I will 'review' the situation.

Oh and by the way I am a fully paid up member so I can advertise, but then I do hope that the rules will apply to me!

PM me if you wish.

All the best Steve

Just me 2 cents worth, a lot of you don't see what happens behind the scenes if everything was free on this forum there would be no XT660.com, with the generosity of all the supporters XT660.com survives from month to month, there not much else as in income that keeps this forum going.

Kev, I am in absolutely with you on this. You are a Stalwart to the forum and along with Fran who keeps an excellent forum........and along with the excellent XT'rs I really enjoy this site and the friends I have met. The Technical aspects covered are of great assistance to all and advice is freely given. But I will re-iterate, the site must have costs and I would urge all contributors to the site to ensure that they pay their 10 to enjoy the site...........or as Fran says ........

"Of course once your membership expires, those privileges that apply to members will cease, i.e. The For Sale section becomes read only, and people can't post ads to sell their bikes or parts and the Ask Kev section is also read only. As well as all the other restricted areas will be limited to normal members."

I again ask that all you have to do is to click on the ............

XT Supporters Factfile
(of the renewals thread)

...........which shows a list of members and their status.

I know from this that I have 20 days remaining before I will renew.......

what about you lot!

Steve

It's the best 10 quid I ever spent joining XT 660.com. I'm sure it's saved me a small fortune in the long run with the expert advice that's on tap here.

I run my own forum for our local scene. We have 1500 registered members and it's been going ten years now. In the past few months we introduced a similar supporters scheme, and many took this up.

However, even some who did still ***** and moan about it, which is bizarre, cause they weren't forced.

Anyway, I liken it to my works company, they recently took on board a few others business's, which meant my workload was diluted and meant my slice of the pie wasn't as good. I didn't complain, I just got on with, cause afterall, it's their business, and they shall do as they see fir with their business, and I always had the option to move along.

Three years now since they took over those other companies, and guess what, I'm still there, the choice is there for everyone.
