Question KTM690 enduro verses XTZ Tenere

Hi every time I visit the local KTM dealer i am drawn to the KTM 690, however in the real world what are they like on the road compared to a tenere? Do they vibrate more and are they tractable at low revs or is it a pure high speed racer, whats the mpg etc are they suitable as a touring bike? Has anybody owned both? Your opinions please folks

It's a great bike, more economical than a tenere, much better off-road but not such a good road bike. It will cruise at 75mph and the vibrations are no worse than a 660z. Reliability's not as good as the Yamaha although they're fairly well sorted now.
I considered buying one for trips to morocco but didn't because of a lack of fairing and large fuel tank.

You might want to have a look at www.rally-raidproducts.co.uk as they produce fairings and extra fuel tanks for them. They're based near Northampton.

If you want something in the middle, you can always go for the AJP PR7 Rally

Looks promising but the tank looks too small, lets see if AJP get it into production.

The price of rally raid products is ridiculous for the KTM 690 and they still only do extra fuel tanks not a replacement single tank.
