Pirelli MT 60
Anyone tried the Pirelli MT60 on a Tenere? If so how did it work?
The Heidenaus K 60 I run now - they have run approx 12-13 k km by now - came to an abrupt end. When having a decent look at them I can see that they have what seems to be deep cracks in many places. Theres no way I want to set off on a long distance trip with (which I am doing next week) on those tyres. So now I have the choice between Pirelli MT 60 or Metzeler Karoo 3 - which both are available in a day or two here where I am right now (Chiang Mai northern Thailand) Other tyres will take too much time to order. Price will be roughly the same. Any thoughts and comments?

I run mt60 on my XTX.., great wet gritty road tyres, ok on gravel, pretty much useless wet off road. Wearing quickly on rear but soft = sticky.

So its time to review the Pirelli MT60s.
I put them on my Tenere in the beginning of May in northern Thailand and I am on a long overlanding tour and currently in Sulawesi - Indonesia. The MT60s has now run approx 12500 km and the rear will run max 3-4 k km more. They have been used on paved roads 98 % from northern Thailand to southern Thailand and a good lop around Malaysia and then the rest in Indonesia. The Thai and Malay roads I rode are paved and relatively good, but a lot of the paved roads here in Indonesia are quite rough stuff, worn and patchy and in general often in quite bad shape. I have done few detours into mountain gravel roads and paths too, but not a lot. To sum it up - these are the best tyres I have had on the Tenere! They have been perfect for my use. They grip well on the roads I have been riding, they feel smooth, no noise and its so easy to throw the bike into corners with a lean angle with confidence. Very very different feel than for example Heidenau. I almost feel like V. Rossi when I am approaching a steep corner.... and I am sure the Tenere has been almost leaned as many degrees as the superbikes are through corners. Might be a degree or two less.... They wont last as long as my previous tyres except for the Heidenaus that cracked up after 12 k kms but will give me around 15 k kms. A bummer though that my tyre dealer in Indonesia cant deliver a new set of MT60s. The next set of tyres on my Ten is going to be Shinko 705. Exited to see what those are like...

No I am sorry, havent tried out any of the tyres you mention Vaun101.
Tried Anakee 2 and 3 which I found quite good. Neutral handling, ok grip and long lasting. Tried Heidenau K60 scout which I didnt like at all. Stiff, noisy, poor handling, ok grip in hot weather and dry. Didnt last very long as the rear tyre cracked up. And now the Pirelli MT60 which I found brilliant.. Wait - there was some tyres on the bike when I bought it that was really awful - was it Battlewing? Cant remember for sure but the original tyres on a 2011 year model....
